As a freshman at NYU, Adam Sandler then just a fledgling stand up comedian landed a recurring role on The Cosby Show. After graduating college he became a cast member on Saturday Night Live which put him in the spotlight helping him to earn supporting roles in several goofball comedies.

Adam Sandler and Kevin James team as two straight guys who stumble down the aisle with the best of intentions in I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. Chuck Levine Sandler and Larry Valentine James are the pride of their fire station: two guy's guys always side by side and willing to do anything for each other. Salt of the earth widower Larry wants just one thing: to protect his family. His buddy Chuck also wants one thing: to enjoy the single life.

It wasn't until leaving SNL and writing movies on his own did Adam Sandler gain notoriety for his string zany characters that he brought to the big screen. But it was a romantic comedy set in the 1980s that propelled him to superstar status.

During his time on 'Saturday Night Live' Adam Sandler became a break out star. Thanks to an appearance on the 'Weekend Update' segment of SNL, Sandler's 'Chanukah Song' shot him to superstardom.
